Protection of river edges, river beds, earth banks, drainage systems…
This system is comprised of gabions with the following characteristics:
- Light-resistant, multi-fibred polypropylene mesh
- Filled with gravel ballast of a size suitable for use with the particular mesh gauze.
- 40cm diameter
- Variable length
- Weight/volume ratio 175Kg/ml
- Possibility to join the individual units longitudinally or transversally, increasing furthermore the resistance to erosion.
It is recommended that seeded/planted biorolls are used in preference to Flexible gabions as this is advantageous when considering the colonisation of the area by wildlife and its integration into the ecosystem.
The Flexible gabions are particularly suitable for use in the protection of river edges and beds, earth banks, drainage systems and other coverings of areas subject to very strong erosive effects with water speeds greater than 2,5m/s and gradients of earth banks greater than ½.
